Synopsis Why does Old Granny seem less lovable as she ages? 82-year-old Granny lives with her fifth son in Guangzhou apartment, but spends most of the time by herself. Two of her children are dead, another two have their own families, and a further two divide their time between Shenzhen and Hong Kong. The only connection among members of this family seems to be the annual grave sweeping ceremony.

Remarks shared after Festival visit

“The standard is averagely high for all competitors there. The techniques, camera works, contents and after effects are all at high standard which could be shown internationally.”

—Shared by Wong Yee-mei, director of This Pair after attending OPEN CINEMA International Film Festival in Russia, under the sponsorship of NAE.

"NAE allows Hong Kong short film makers to see some other works from Asia. This is a good chance for them to exchange ideas on moving images and the society. Meanwhile, Busan is an awesome place for shooting. It would be a good chance for filmmakers in Hong Kong to make their work there. They can cooperate with local film makers and also know more about their logistics in filmmaking. In general, I found that the general public in Korea really respect filmmakers. They do appreciate the local work and show support to the festival. I sincerely hope to see this high level of film appreciation in Hong Kong in the near future."
