Remu IWAI, a.k.a. Siufat Remus NG, may not be considered extremely active in various creative fields such as theatre, photography and video arts but he does sometimes work as a photo/video/visual artist for different arts projects in Hong Kong.
After graduated from School of Creative Media at City University of Hong Kong in 2002, he has worked on video designs for performing arts productions, including Vee Leong's Solo of a Solitary Acrobat, Far Away and Who Killed the Elephant, Chan Ping-chiu’s The Fisher King 3, On and On Theatre Workshop's TRA-P-Art, Seven Deadly Kisses, Death and the Maiden, Swirloo’s Before.After, E-RUN’s Yoru no Ichizoku, Unlock Dancing Plaza’s 10 Nights Rehearsal Note, Prospects Theatre’s The Memorable and the Forgettable, Hong Kong Repertory Theatre’s Bun In The Cave, Hong Kong Arts Festival’s Ending the World, YuYuMiMi and Jiao Qing, among others.
2009 summer, he directed his debut theatre work Moomin Café episode 1224 in Sidekick Theatre Festival 2009.
At the same time, he continued creating his own photography, graphic and video arts works. His video works include: experimental video Wedding Barbie Vs Orange PaPa, Sleeping Beast, among others. During 2003~2011, his dance x video work 10 Nights, collaborated with dance choreographer Ong Yong-lock, and experimental video I am looking at you looking at me looking∞ have been screened at several video arts festival in Asia, Europe and South America.
Video project Schubert: Winterreise: 24.00 will be his next move in the coming winter 2012~2013.His recent video work inspired by local theatre play Who Killed the Elephant was screened at Chapters Arts Centre in Cardiff, the UK.
