Synopsis Through a series of intricately composed long takes, Epilepsy exposes the robotic state of students today through the eyes of a young boy. For him, going to school simply means a continuous dose of discipline and punishment from all sides. Education simply means taking what he's given, and any dissent or deviation from the norm is discouraged with force. Even when a girl begins to inspire change in him, will he be able to face a strange, new world that is so different from the one he knows?

"The biggest reward that I have been given at South Taiwan Film Festival was the enjoyment of exchange in culture, films and art with others. Tainan is a cultural city. The local audience was genuinely curious and enthusiastic. Compared to Hong Kong audience whom would take more of an interest in film production, Tainan audience was more intrigued in learning and understanding the underlying message of the work. Although this was my first visit to Tainan, I felt so much of their genuine energy and passion, and it made me feel so much at home during the stay."

— Shared by Lee Kai-ho, director of EPILEPSY, after attending the 2012 South Taiwan Film Festival in Taiwan, under the sponsorship of NAE.
