Remarks shared after Festival visit

“One of the highlights and the most inspiring aspect in attending Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival was watching others’ work from all over the world. With fewer restrictions and limits on corporate or political constraints that the mainstream productions are suffering, these short films embody more of a personal touch and authenticity from the filmmakers. Indah Citra was one of the most intricately crafted animations I’ve ever seen. Style inspired by traditional Indonesian art, the story illustrates a child worker’s daydream of escaping her harsh working condition. It is always fascinating when a filmmaker or a production is willing to experiment the art form, and to expand and challenge viewers’ perspective and thinking through visual storytelling. The nature of my creative work is often short in length – music videos, brand commercials, short films, etc. Through this experience, I am inspired to always keep my eyes open for unique talents and strive to push the boundaries in my works. I hope to continue my exploration in storytelling through music and film, widening the audience’s viewing experience.”
