20th ifva Festival : NEW ACTION EXPRESS Short Film Highlights

Fifteen award-winning local titles were sponsored by CreateHK under the NAE to participate in the 2015 Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival and Market in France and received overwhelming response at the screenings. Eight of them are now brought back to local platform for their first screening in the 20th ifva Festival. You will definitely enjoy the show with a taste of creative touch in making tales built up of suspense, tenderness, emptiness, fantasy and excitements.

Fuk Pak-to

Young choreographer Li De collaborates with veteran cinematographer Fukpakjim to present a refreshing short work that focuses on modern communication issues between people. Three scenes, three dances, one message: Stop Phubbing.
The Crazy Night
Chan ka-yin

Story begins with a misunderstood smile and a wink, which kicks off a speed race of cartoon magnitude between a minibus driver and an old man. Meanwhile, the passengers inside the bus become stoically affected by what is going on.
The Missed Call

This is a set of love and supernatural suspense elements of the original story. Chun is a photographer, working in a self-owned industrial building in Hong Kong unit, One night, Fion, who was his girlfriend have an argue with chun in the studio, they were broke up because of a work. Fion called Chun after she was leaved, but Chun missed her call because he still working hard in the studio. Two days later, Chun cannot found Fion, he received a call to let him go to another place to find Fion.
Disappearing in Central

In the 70s and 80s, the printing industry was extremely active in Hong Kong, especially in Central and Sheung Wan districts. Not only have the old skills and color of Hong Kong been disappearing, but also the human warmth associated with the industry.
Celtic - The Dream Fighter

“CELTIC – The Dream Fighter”, the idea of story bases on a Japanese comic which is full of passion and fighting plot. The story takes place in an old and mysterious tribe, two brave warriors are going to start their survival battle.
