Annecy International Animated Film Festival and Market 2019

Striving its best in promoting local animation works and bringing in new insights into local animation market, HONG KONG SHORT FILM: NEW ACTION EXPRESS (NAE) NAE, a scheme launched by the Hong Kong Arts Centre and sponsored by Create Hong Kong (CreateHK) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, is participating in the Annecy International Animated Film Festival and Market 2019! Seeing the significant growth in the production of animated works in Hong Kong in recent years, support in screening and distribution of these works become utterly crucial in propelling the development of local animation landscape. By participating in one of the major animated film festivals in Europe, NAE aims at proactively bridging the connections of local animators and their works with overseas potential buyers and distributors while continuously presenting local animations to the world at the same time.

The Short Film Market will take place from 11 June to 14 June at Impérial Palace in Annecy, France. Along with a promotional booth at the market, a market screening will be arranged on 12 June to showcase 8 incredible awarded animated works created by Hong Kong animators to overseas audience. Through the subsidy under NAE, directors will attend the festival, and reach out to international professionals in search of potential collaborations in the overseas market.
