Remarks shared after Festival visit

“Overall, the festival was an amazing experience. Palm Springs International Film Festival truly is about celebrating, and to help guide new emerging filmmakers. All the panels from industry guest were very enlightening and the guest speakers were very open to telling us their personal knowledge of the industry. We received great panel/master classes from Ted Hope, Top Film Festival Programmers, Industry insiders, US Casting Society, and very good filmmakers. In addition to the panels, many events, roundtables, parties, etc, were thrown everyday to allow for networking and career building opportunities. This way we could have a lecture panel formal discussion and then also have time to meet people in a more relaxing setting. The chance to also watch so many great films has been very inspiring and motivational to continue producing good work. We were also very fortunate to receive two awards from the festival, and the awards have led to future collaborations and grants towards our next project. Overall, the festival was an amazing experience and the knowledge and opportunities gained has been priceless.”

After my film screened at the festival and we received the award, CAA (Creative Arts Agency) has reached out to me as they are looking for directors to represent. We have been in communication since and we are looking to meet to discuss my next project.

This was a really wonderful festival for Asian cinema as it really celebrated works from different Asian filmmakers from all around the world. I also, liked how the festival did a wonderful job at advertising the festival as many shows had a lot of audience. Overall the trip was very beneficial as I was able to screen my film at two festivals during my time in LA. We screened at Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival and screened at the Newport Beach Film Festival. Through both events I continued to add to my fan base and also continued to build my network. In addition, LAAPFF was a great experience as I was at a festival that really celebrated works made by Asian people. Therefore, I felt that there is a place for Asian stories and Asian voices.
