Remarks shared after Festival visit

Participating in Five Flavours Film Festival was a fantastic trip as Polish people do respect movies and movie makers very much. They pay a high attention in the content of the movies and filmmakers’ thoughts. It was nice to have a discussion about the movie industry trend in Hong Kong and the Hollywood with them. There were lots of great time to communicate with the audiences and hosts about movies, cultures, history, arts, designs, social relations and so on. I want to thank NAE for sponsoring me to participate in this meaningful and joyful film festival. Their interests and enthusiasm in movie industry strengthen my faith toward the power of film. I am looking forward to any opportunities to join the festival next year.

Since the locals in Taiwan are more leisure, they could spend more time and stay behind to discuss films with directors after screening. For example, I was being asked where my inspiration came from; when I started to make my film; and what my short term plans were right now. I think it is a great experience and I have gained new insights from the festival. I have found that locals do focus a lot on their own history, and they are keen on reflecting or exploring it of different time periods through films, and I learnt that this is quite different from the atmosphere in Hong Kong. There were lots of good times for me to communicate with the audiences and hosts about movies, cultures and history.
